Hello Autumn 2023

30th September & 1st October

Join us for a weekend of activities to celebrate the beginning of Autumn Colour

Saturday 30th September

On Saturday 30th September our gardening team will be onsite offering guided tours, foraging walks and crafts and activities for the children including the launch of our new Tree Guardian Trail. Dan Winter, our head gardener, will be onsite offering guided tours and a Q & A so please do have your questions ready. Plant an acorn with Daniel to nurture into a tiny Oak tree and return next autumn to be planted in the wood.

The fire pits will be on to have a go at some fire lighting skills, making caramel apples and of course, toasting marshmallows.

See what projects we have going on in the garden and maybe even sign up to get involved.

Apple Pressing with Paul

Bring your windfall apples for pressing with Paul, or just taste some freshly pressed juice.

Relax and enjoy a taste of the new autumn menu in the café.

Apple pressing will run all weekend.

Hive demonstrations with the beekeeper

After a summer of abundance our bees have been working hard.  Collect your jar of Evenley Wood Garden honey or honeycomb.

Sunday 1st October will be a day of crafts and demonstrations.

Blacksmith demonstrations with Adam Baillie

Adam will be bringing his mini forge to the garden to offer demonstations.

Combining my passion for design with metalworking skills is the greatest way to give my customers something truly unique. It is not all about the end product, but also the journey from design to production to customer that is a great one I love sharing.

As one of only a handful of blacksmiths in the country to train with the National Heritage Ironwork Group, working with master craftsmen in museums and workshops, this is one aspect of my work I take very seriously.

There are some fantastic stories, lessons, history and wonders in the industry that need our protection.

With experience, skills and a network of contacts in the field, I can successfully help preserve the history of ironwork for future generations to enjoy.

Spoon carving with JamKat Spoon Shed

Join Anita from JamKat Spoon Shed and watch as she takes a block of wood, with axe and knife, to a beautifully carved spoon.

Father's Day BBQ

Sausages on the BBQ and Apple Warmer from the café, along with the introduction of our fantastic new autumnal menu.
